On April 2nd, District Sports will host their annual Cherry Blossom City Cup. The Cherry Blossom City Cup, now in its 11th year, is a unique charity soccer tournament for adults in Washington, D.C. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit charitable partner Open Goal Project, a newly formed non-profit dedicated to providing resources and opportunities to talented youth soccer players in D.C. from low-income families.
"The Cherry Blossom City Cup is a great tradition for the Washington, D.C. adult soccer community, serving not only as an opportunity for friends and neighbors to gather but to also positively impact our community,” District Sports Executive Director Alex Bearman says. “Soccer has been so important to many of our player’s personal development that we feel a certain obligation to pass these experiences along to young people. Open Goal is making this happen, and we are so pleased to support their efforts."
