Chevron Soccer Academy by Open Goal Project

in partnership with Chevron, and California-based professional teams Los Angeles Football Club and the San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer and Fresno FC of the United Soccer League, Open Goal Project is bringing powerful, free high-level soccer programming to hundreds of boys and girls in California in the form of the Chevron Soccer Academy by Open Goal Project.

using our Open Goal Project method to engage players from underserved communities, we are able to remove obstacles and empower boys and girls from underserved communities in Fresno, Los Angeles, Bakersfield, and Monterey to access this opportunity of a lifetime.

on the field, players are coached by former men’s and women’s professional soccer players (see some of them below), with vast experience competing in MLS, NWSL, FIFA World Cups, and other international competitions. with our incredibly diverse staff made up of men’s and women’s coaches from the United States, Canada, Honduras, Mexico, and beyond, the boys and girls are given a genuine chance to engage with role models they can relate to.

to make the series of clinics and tournaments accessible to our newest players around California, and to make the experience a unique one, the events are completely free of charge, and lunch and transportation to and from the stadium are provided.

players for the program are identified through our team's extensive community outreach and coordination with local community leaders and information and registration forms are provided in English and Spanish.

off the field, players get to experience the Chevron STEM Zone where they were empowered to learn about science through the lens of soccer.
