We believe in using soccer as a vehicle for growth, higher education, and greater life experiences for our players...players like Christopher.
Christopher was one of the first players we worked with at Open Goal Project and after being spotted at our free DC College ID camp by Prince George’s County Community College’s Coach, he is now a student-athlete for the Owls, attending PGCCC to compete on the field and further his education in the classroom.
Meet Ariana and Precious.
just a few short years ago, the only organized soccer these two supremely talented young ladies were playing was in their after-school teams with DC SCORES. when we at Open Goal Project identified these girls and the challenges that they and their families faced when it came to playing at a higher-level, we aggressively began to fundraise and facilitate opportunities for the girls, empowering them to make the most of their potential and to continue to grow with the game. fast forward to today: Precious, now 15, and Ariana, now 16, play on McLean's ECNL team, one of the top youth girls teams in the country. the girls have competed in showcase tournaments in North Carolina, Florida and Arizona, and have competed for a national championship in Seattle. in the past year, Precious and Ariana have received dozens of recruitment letters from Division I universities all over the county. with the support of our community, Precious and Ariana, are now in a position to make the most of their natural potential.
