travel soccer support

when we launched open goal project in 2015, we were working to register and cover costs of travel soccer for three talented young players from low-income families. since that time, we've expanded our reach significantly as the need continues to grow.

to date we have helped dozens of talented youth soccer players access travel soccer opportunities, successfully facilitating registration, helping cover travel costs, or coordinating logistics for boys and girls who deserve opportunities.

some of the biggest challenges the players we support face when it comes to playing on a travel team include:

• lack of resources (transportation to and from practices and games, financial support, etc.)

• lack of information (low-income families often struggle to gain access and knowledge regarding greater youth soccer opportunities)

• language barrier (many immigrant families find it difficult to navigate the youth soccer landscape if they are not proficient in english)
