Our Programs

Access for All Players

By offering free programs near public transportation, with professional coaches, community mentors, and bilingual leaders, we ensure access to innovative and positive soccer programs.

District of Columbia Football Club (DCFC)

DCFC is DC’s first and only 100% free, competitive youth travel soccer club. Our programs are easily accessible via public transportation and include bilingual communication and professional coaching, eliminating financial and logistical barriers for young athletes. Unlike recreational programs or leagues, DCFC teams compete against top ‘pay-to-play’ teams that cost thousands of dollars each year per participant from suburban Maryland, Virginia, and beyond in formal league and tournament play.

DCFC student-athletes attend dozens of schools from all over the District, offering a unique opportunity to be part of a team with peers from other schools and neighborhoods. As it is a competitive program, DCFC is tryout based. Click the link below to register to be notified about future tryouts.

Summer Skills Camps

Our Summer Skills Camps provide an immersive soccer experience for young players, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and fun. These camps are designed to be inclusive and accessible, ensuring that every child can participate. We deliver this for five days each week, for six weeks in the summer.

Our Summer Skills Camps are open registration, but participation is dependent on capacity. Most years, we operate with a waitlist and will notify waitlisted participants if slots become available.

When registration is open for this year’s Summer Skills Camp, we will make the form available on our website.

MLS GO Powered By DCFC

MLS GO, our in-house soccer league for children aged 5-12, extends our developmental philosophy to younger participants. This program mirrors DCFC's structure, with the distinction that all games are played within the community in-house. MLS GO emphasizes fun, foundational soccer skills while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

MLS GO is for passionate and committed student-athletes who want to improve their skills in a fun and challenging learning environment.

Like our Summer Skills Camps, MLS GO is open registration, but participation is dependent on capacity. Click the link below to register to be notified if and when MLS GO slots become available this Spring season.

Our Empowerment Cycle

Our Open Goal Project Empowerment Cycle is a cornerstone of our workforce development approach, promoting social upward mobility by transitioning participants into leadership roles. Youth aged 14-25 receive mentorship, coaching certifications, and paid opportunities as program coaches and administrative staff. This model not only provides valuable workforce experience and ensures that our youngest participants see relatable role models from their own community, but empowers us to build capacity from within our program.
