Our Impact
Grassroots Impact
In 2015, we ran a small fundraiser to help cover the travel soccer fees of three young student athletes in our community.
In 2025, our program served more than 500 student-athletes.
Programming Impact
A participant who competes in DCFC’s year-round program (on average four days each week) as well as each week of our Summer Skills Camp (five days each week) receives approximately 450 hours of 100% free programming throughout the year from our organization.
A participant who competes in all of our programs annually receives the same amount of soccer programming throughout the year as would cost approximately $5,000-$10,000 at another standard fee-based club.
Social Emotional Impact
Based on Social Emotional Learning surveys, we’ve also been able to prove that Open Goal Project is improving the lives, mindsets, and outlook of our youth:
Nearly 100% of our participants say they are learning lessons and skills from the program that are helping them outside of soccer and in their lives as growing young people
Since participating in our program, more than 90% of our youth say that they are more confident and have increased self-esteem.
100% of alumni say Open Goal Project has helped make them a better leader.
Life-Changing Impact
20 of our program alumni have gone on to play soccer collegiately.
47 program alumni have gone on to enroll in a 2 or 4 year college.
100% of our alumni have graduated high school.
90% of our alumni say Open Goal Project helped improve their grades.
80% of alumni say Open Goal Project prepared them for life after high school.
