Step 1: Complete Safe Soccer Training
Select Sign Up/Login to create a free account. If you already have an account, sign in using your existing email address.
Complete all 3 phases of the Safe Soccer course, including US Soccer background check.
Download your final completion certificate and clearance when available and send to Open Goal Project staff.
Becoming a Consistent Volunteer With MLS GO Powered By DCFC
Volunteers who will work regularly with MLS GO participants must complete the following steps before beginning their role. If you have any questions about these steps, please reach out to us at info@opengoalproject.org.
Step 2: Complete Fingerprinting Check
Adults who are volunteering consistently with youth must complete an additional background check that requires making an appointment for fingerprinting before starting.
Once your role is confirmed, Open Goal Project will follow up with the steps and instructions for fingerprinting through our government grant partners.
Step 3: Receive Your Assignment
After completing all requirements that apply to your role, an Open Goal Project staff member will confirm your volunteer assignment, schedule, arrival instructions, and primary staff contact.
On your first day and at each session going forward, you’ll report to our staff member who is your point of contact at the field to discuss and your responsibilities for the session.
